Kimmyboi Letkeman has been permanently banned from DPR again. That's great news, but DPR can't be trusted to keep their word on bans or anything else. I won't be surprised if Kimmynazi returns. If nothing else, he will probably just use a different user name and try to sneak back in.

In the 'Original shot of the Cedar Waxwing' thread on the Fuji talk forum on DPR, Kimmyboi, Buckshit, Billyboi08, etc. are up to their usual arrogant, insulting, dictatorial bullshit. Hey Kimmynazi, why don't you and your ass buddies just SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

I can't find the words to express how much I would like to hear that Kimmydouche was critically injured and is dying a slow, excruciatingly painful death. If he and all his ass puppets were all critically injured and dying slow, painful deaths it would be a good reason for a joyous celebration.

KimmyHitler and his butt sucking sycophants are narcissistic slimeballs who get their jollies by insulting and attacking people who just want to share pictures, and discuss photography and photographic gear. Kimmybile thinks he's the GOD of photography, photographic gear, and everything else in the universe.

In reality, he's a fat, stupid, pompous blowhard who couldn't take a good picture if his life depended on it. He brags about his photography and post processing skills, his camera gear, and even his computer monitors, yet he NEVER shows a picture that is anything more than a crappy, boring, snapshot. In fact, virtually all of the pictures he has ever shown are just plain garbage, but that sure doesn't stop him from touting himself as though he's the greatest photographer of all time.

My advice to all the decent people on the FTF: Complain daily to DPR about Kimmyboi's behavior and the behavior of all his puppets too. Do NOT respond to or about Kimmypuke or his little gang of ass suckers at all. Treat them as though they're invisible. It will drive them crazy. They thrive on the attention they get even though it's negative attention. I know it's hard to not respond to Kimmynazi or his butt buddies but it's the most effective way to treat them. If you do respond, just say something like STFU, or meh, or I don't care what you say, or something else that just dismisses him and his sphincter licking gang. Repeat it over and over and never specifically respond to what he says.

Just remember that you're dealing with a mentally fucked up douchebag who has a tiny following of similarly fucked up douchebags. Kimmyscum and his little gang are losers, in every possible way. They have never amounted to anything worthwhile so they try to compensate for that by trying to bring other people down. They're jealous of people who are better than they are, which is just about everyone else on Earth. Their jealousy and insanity are pathological and have become their way of life. Rejoice in the fact that they're lonely, empty, unaccomplished, impotent, hated, desperate losers who don't have any real friends. Don't feel sorry for them. They brought it all on themselves. All they deserve is scorn.

An interesting conundrum

For several weeks I have been receiving comments from a person who has used various user names from the FTF forum, and other made up names too. In his most recent comments he used the name Buckshot. He finally tripped himself up and I can do something about it now.

This leaves me in a position where I feel that I should remove all comments from this person but I also want to be fair to the people who have responded to the comments from this person, and I want to be fair to the people on the FTF (including the assholes). Even if this person is not Buckshot or the other people he has claimed to be, the comments he has written (that I have posted) are relevant in a sense. That sense being that he is defending certain trouble makers on DPR, and that the points made by the people who have responded to him are important to those people.

However, I don't think it's fair to blame people whose names are being used by someone else to comment here. If someone deserves to be blamed for something, it should be for something they actually do or say.

So, I would like some input from you readers. Should I remove all comments from this person, and all comments from others in response to him (including mine)?

If I could just change the name on his comments from the fake ones to 'anonymous', I would, but I am unable to do that.

Something else to consider: This guy has used the names (or user names) of other people to spout off here. Those people had their names stolen by a jerk who is clearly trying to stir up shit for those people, and is too much of a wimp to take responsibility for his own words. Using the name 'anonymous' would have been a lot better than using the names of other people.

I don't care if people use their actual name or not but to steal the names of other people and use them to make comments here is about as low as anyone could get.

I have now made it impossible for this person to submit any more comments.

And here's a message to that person: You probably think that you've caused me a lot of trouble. Well, maybe you did cause me some, but here's something for you to think about. My posts about DPR and some of the people there will remain here and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. I obviously really piss you off with what I say here and that makes me feel warm all over. I will continue to piss you off and nothing you want to say will ever be posted here again.

thanks to an PM i received today, i was told how this guy got my ip address. so i checked one last time, and it is obvious what he has done. he installed hit counter software on his blog that records hits and ip addresses if you comment or post on his blog. he has even posted today his daily hits, (which i am sure is highly inflated to match his ego)

All I have to do is click the Stats button in my blog, after I sign in of course. The numbers I posted are accurate.

There’s a guy … a regular poster and self-styled professional photographer and gallery owner in the far east (I’m a little embarrassed to quote that fiction, but in the interests of full disclosure I must) who has created a blog … his motivations are very much unclear, but I have a theory which I cannot share :-).

+Why don't you just say Lloydy (Dave Lloyd) instead of "a guy"? Why can't you share your theory?

For those of you looking for crude and rather rudimentary advice, hop on over to the unbearably pretentiously named http://eyemindsoul.blogspot.com and have a look. I personally consider it the moral equivalent of watching Barney, but I’m sure that others’ mileage will vary.

Now … I have dropped the odd comment into that blog, generally when he makes a mistake, a not uncommon occurence. I stopped after a while because he kept deleting them. Seriously. He deletes perfectly valid technical critiques instead of refuting them.

+Well, Kimmydickless, your comments are certainly odd but they aren't perfectly valid technical critiques. Your hypocrisy about deleting comments is astronomical. You delete or never post many comments that are submitted to your blog.

The first rule of blogging: Never delete comments. (One exception: filthy language, personal attacks, etc can be moderated as they contribute nothing and there is no valid motivation for such commentary.)

+There you go again with the massive hypocrisy. Your comments on your blog and on the FTF, and the comments from your little gang of ass puppets, are filled with personal attacks. So much for "valid motivation" for YOUR or THEIR commentary. Look at a mirror Kimmyfatass and tell your butt buddies to do the same thing.

I commented recently on his latest post on what he calls “spot auto focus” (which follows his usual “make sh-t up” style of naming features incorrectly), and suggested a test that might actually work to isolate the actual size of the AF area used by Fuji in the HS10. But instead of refuting it, or better yet running the test and posting something useful, he simply deleted the comment like it never existed.

+Does it really matter what Lloydy calls it, especially when he explains what he means? And why shouldn't he delete your comments? All you ever do is attack and insult him and try to make yourself look like the god of photography. You delete comments on your blog and he deletes comments on his blog. You expect him to post your comments but you won't post comments that are submitted to your blog. Who's being the hypocrite Kimmyboi?

    But he can continue to minimize the effect of criticism with such devoted sycophants such as LO (SO), who continue to back up his fictions daily. She has even craftily posted another of her over-the-top personal attacks against us. Craftily because she timed this one to appear when the chance of it being deleted before the weekend passes and the moderators return on Monday is minimized, and also because she now knows not to name names in her attacks, when she can just as easily make the attackees known to forum regulars. The Fujifilm Talk Forum on DPR is a point and shoot forum. Many of the people who buy point and shoot cameras, and especially the ones who ONLY use point and shoot cameras are usually not as anal and gear centric as DSLR users are. They may also not be very experienced but that isn't a sure thing. Many point and shoot users are excellent, experienced photographers.

Creeps like Kimmyfag and Billyxboi apparently have DSLRs and they obviously think that that makes them experts at photography, and it also makes them think that they can rightfully ridicule anyone they think is a lesser photographer (or gear owner) than they are.

Kimmyboi and his butt buddies constantly nitpick the tiniest of details that they think are wrong with some people's pictures, even when those people are happy with their pictures, and they can't stand it when those people receive compliments or helpful suggestions from others. Kimmynazi and his little gang of goose stepping ass puppets simply must find something wrong with pictures taken by other people, and especially by certain people, like Lloydy, painterdude, Silent Oracle, GaryNW, etc., etc.

The thing is, I don't see anything taken by Kimmyboi and his gang that shows they know what they're talking about. All I've seen from those guys are crappy to mediocre snapshots that any ten year old could take with a cheap camera.

Think about this: If Kimmyturd has DSLRs and good lenses, why is he constantly on the FTF, a point and shoot forum, trying to make himself look like some world famous expert in all things photographic? Why isn't he on a high-end DSLR forum showing those guys how it's done? Oh wait, he tried that and was run off the forum.

Why are Kimmyboi and his gang on the FTF at all, if they have DSLRs? They don't compliment anyone and they don't offer any real help. They just bash and attack, and arrogantly try to prove how smart they are. I never see those guys in a thread that has an upbeat theme and discussion, unless they're there to disrupt and ruin the positive mood and contributions of the thread.

Why don't those guys show their alleged expertise with examples of their own photos and with friendly explanations of how others may improve their pictures? And, if others aren't interested in the examples or explanations, so what? Does everyone have to take and process pictures exactly like Kimmyboi and his gang thinks they should?

Kimmycrap and his gang are every bit as much amateurs as anyone else on the FTF. If they were as good as they think they are they would be making a good living from their photography, but they're not. They're just self proclaimed experts on a point and shoot forum where they think they're superior to the peons they look down on from their lofty position on an enormous mountain of maggot infested turds.

Kimmyboi LetkeHitler does read my blog. He has changed the name he applied to the female figure in a picture he posted on his blog. Instead of the incorrect "Cinderella" it now says Snow White, which is the right name. I pointed out the incorrect name in one of my posts below. Kimmynazi is such a dolt.

He is also denigrating Dave Lloyd (a poster on the FTF on DPR) on his blog, as usual, and says that when Dave looks at a mirror he sees nothing and that he's "that transparent". Well Kimmyass, you're the transparent one. Your motives are abundantly clear and they are filled with arrogance, pomposity, hypocrisy, jealousy, and delusions of godhood.

Another thing Kimmydouche says is "I can’t imagine anyone feeling insulted enough to even hit the baby buttond … but then, babies do not really need much of a reason to throw a tantrum, now do they??" Do you really believe that DPR acts solely on the complaints they receive? Did it ever occur to you that DPR checks out the posts that are complained about and makes a decision based on what they see?

Is it within the realm of possibility that you could ever see that you are the problem, and that the way you act and talk is totally offensive to most people? Why is it that you think that anyone who doesn't worship you is a baby and is too easily insulted? Why is it that you think you can say anything you want but other people can't? Why do you think it's ok for you to complain but not for anyone else to complain?

Where does it say that you are the only person who gets to decide what is acceptable or insulting? Where does it say that you are above everyone else? Who appointed you as the controller of the world? Who made you the master of all things in the universe? Do you really believe that you are a god?

Have you ever in you life accepted even the slightest morsel of responsibility for anything you've done or said? Have you ever felt the slightest bit bad about insulting someone? Have you ever noticed that you push most people out of your life because of your malignantly narcissistic behavior? Do you always blame them instead of yourself? Are other people always wrong and you're always right?

Were you abused and sexually molested as a child? Is that why you love to suck man ass? Does it make you feel superior when you put down other people and deliberately try to hurt their feelings? Do you even know what feelings are? Is the cavity in your head where your brain should be actually filled with rotting, festering shit that's overrun with maggots? Do the maggots drip from your ears? Do you eat your boogers?

What's it like to be a fat, disgusting sweat-hog who hasn't had anything but butt sex with animals and members of your own gender for most of your life? Are your children really yours or did your ex-wife get pregnant by a real man with a real dick and just tell you that they're yours? When you look down, can you see your feet or do you have to have someone else tell you what they look like? Have you sent a picture of your gut to Ripley's to see if they will certify that you have the biggest, ugliest, sweatiest, most pimple covered gut in the world? You should. That's the only thing where you can rightfully claim to be the greatest.

By the way Kimmyprick, why are you so jealous of Dave Lloyd and some others on the FTF? They get a lot more attention than you and it's positive attention and that obviously drives you nuts. The biggest (in more ways than one) asshole on DPR (Kimmyboi Letkeman) has been temporarily banned for three weeks. According to the email DPR sent him he is responsible for HALF of the complaints they receive on some days, yet they didn't ban him permanently, even though he has been previously banned permanently at least twice. What the fuck is going on at DPR?? WHY aren't permanent bans permanent???

They have banned Kimmydouche permanently and temporarily a bunch of times, yet they keep letting that arrogant troublemaker come back, just to cause more grief to the people on the forums.WHY??

DPR does like all the shit in their forums, and they want it to go on and on and on. If they didn't, they would truly PERMANENTLY ban Kimmyboi and his little gang of ass sucking bitches, and the other constant trouble makers in all of their forums.

Falsehoods and lack of responsibility

Over the years many people have tried to get dpreview to moderate their forums in a consistent and effective way. Whenever that is suggested or asked for by someone, the usual argument against it is that it would cost DPR a fortune to implement good moderation. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Here are some comments from a thread on the m43 forum:

First person:

"Someone always hijacks a thread... no matter what the topic is... and turns it into a pi$$ing contest. And there may be no solution for this, unless Dpreview is willing to spend a fortune hiring moderators to police us."

Second person:

"The fact is that moderation is dirt cheap relative to the advertising revenue this forum produces. They just refuse to reduce the profit by that small amount. Which should tell us all exactly how much we REALLY matter to them."

The second person is absolutely correct. DPR does not care about the majority of the people who not only use their forums but have made the forums popular enough to make Phil Askey rich, and the others at DPR a lot of money. Without the popularity of the forums DPR would be out of business, or at least nowhere near as profitable.

There's NO good reason why DPR doesn't moderate their forums more consistently and effectively. They just don't want to spend the small amount it would take to have someone do it. I KNOW that I could do it in a few hours (at most) every day so I know that someone else could do it too. And even if it weren't absolutely perfect, practically anything would be better than it is now.

DPR, and only DPR, is responsible for what happens on their forums, but they won't accept that responsibility and they shift the blame and the burden to the people who use their forums. Their current, horrible, so-called moderation is inconsistent and discriminatory and is never effective. The same old shit just goes on and on and on and on and on.

DPR is dying a slow death. Their readership is WAY down from what it was a few years ago. They flat out lie about how many people visit their site, and the loss of visitors and participants is due in a big way to the fact that their forums are generally a cess pool of fights and insults. The number of trouble makers is a small percentage compared to the people who just want to talk shop about camera gear. DPR has nothing to gain by keeping those trouble makers around, so that makes me wonder why they do keep them.

I believe it's because they like the fighting and see it as entertainment while they're doing their boring tests on camera gear, and I think they have a lot in common with the troublemakers. Birds of a feather flock together.

P.S. If anyone doesn't believe me that the readership has gone way down on DPR, feel free to check the statistics yourself. Alexa would be a good start. Last month (Sept. 2010) DPR had just over 422,000 unique visitors. That's a loooong way from seven million.

One of the problems though, is that he doesn't name names. So, I have to wonder just who he thinks should be told to shut the fuck up?

This week DPR I purchased $1200 worth of photography equipment from B & H. My normal practice of getting to B & H via your ads did NOT happen. Instead, I went straight to B & H and purchased my items. What drove me to this? The cesspool of filth that is Fuji Talk Forum.

This is not a one time event DPR. I on average spend $3000-$4000 every year or year and a half on camera equipment. Since I have recently dropped my Canon gear and switching over to Nikon (due to picking up an S5 Pro), I have a LOT of lenses to buy. Fast. I also will be buying the X100 when it is released and am also close to getting an LX-5 to replace my dying F70EXR.

Again, not a whole lot by DPR standards but demonstrable in that the lack of action in the FTF is costing DPR currency.
What is the old adage? For every angry customer that writes or speaks up, 10 are silently doing the same thing without making noise?

30 minutes a day could clean up the bilge that passes for "content" here in the sewer.
I hope DPR reflects on the cost of its hands off approach to moderating and moves to clean things up.

Incidently, many months ago for the first time ever in 20 years of being in forums (going back to the days of CiX) I complained to the mods (actually I was one of at least 4 )about Kim after he was more than just rude, indeed downright obnoxious to an innocent newbie poster and numerous people in one thread. Sadly they didnt respond - there is no moderation where there should be. I don't normally highlight just one person, but feel he is beyond civilities.

He says MIGsy doesn't understand what he's seeing but then what he says is in agreement with MIGsy, that the F300EXR is lousy for landscapes and makes "a mess of distant foliage". Kimmyboi agrees with MIGsy, except that he thinks distant foliage and the other things MIGsy mentioned aren't high contrast or complex. Does it fucking matter, if the camera can't render them well?? All that matters is the point MIGsy made, that the F300 sucks for landscapes, and MIGsy didn't say anything about contrast.

He just can't say something without including some denigrating, insulting remark ("You still don't quite understand what you were seeing..."), and it's usually much worse than that one. Apparently, if anything at all is anywhere near in focus in a shot from a 7D it's a wonderful photo to the Canon 7D lovers. The 7D may just be the most overrated camera ever made, and the fanboys who gush over it on a daily basis are just pathetic little dweebs who live in the delusion that they're good photographers.

Fanboys are an embarrassment to all good photographers, and dpreview totally sucks for letting those assholes dominate their forums.

One post from "Slod" hardly proves Julio's point about "all credible reports", and "Slod" is as "anonymous" as Clear7. If "Slod" had said something negative about the 7D, even if it were true, Julio would have attacked him too and accused him of being "anonymous". As long as someone says positive things about the 7D, they're just an "honest guy", but if they don't blindly praise the 7D they're a "stalking, pathetic little boy with a ridiculous agenda to try to discredit a camera you haven't even touched" and they should "crawl back under your rock untill your cojones drop".

By the way, either Slod was lying, or the so-called "engineer" at the Canon service center was lying to him. I think it was the latter. Look around the web and you'll see that a LOT of people have sent their new 7D to Canon service centers for repair.

Go see for yourselves. Look at a couple of months of Julio's posts. You'll see that he's a raging Canon 7D fanboy, and that he passes himself off as a know it all. There were many other recent posts where Julio called people morons and other insulting names over and over and over again, but for some strange reason he wasn't banned by dpreview. Those posts seem to have been deleted though, and some of the people he was calling morons and other insulting names have been banned even though they didn't get anywhere near as abusive as Julio does on a regular basis. Some of the people banned weren't abusive or insulting at all. Their only crime was not being a Canon fanboy.

Julio, and some other fanboys, constantly say that only a "few" 7Ds have problems, but in one of his posts he says that "several thousand" buyers will find problems and that Canon will have to provide firmware updates to deal with them. He said that before the camera was released to the public. There have been MANY legitimate complaints about problems with the 7D but he and his fanboy butt buddies are there in the forums waging war on anyone who so much as hints at a problem with their 7D, and doesn't proclaim it as the best camera ever made. Most of the reported problems are not fixable with firmware updates. The cameras have to be exchanged or sent to a Canon service center for repair (at the buyer's cost).

Looking back through Julio's posts, they are filled with hypocritical statements and abusive insults. He's a self proclaimed know it all and helper, when in reality he's nothing but a pompous jerk in every way. His photography sucks too.

dpreview has rules against being abusive and insulting, but for some strange reason they only enforce the rules against people who aren't fanboys. Then again, maybe it's not so strange after all. Read my other posts about fanboys, and dpreview catering to them.

The "Who is Hecules?" thread on dpreview is now gone. It disappeared not long after my last post here. Looks like dpreview is reading my blog and realized that leaving that thread there made them look like the biased and arrogant fanboy loving idiots they are.

I see that the "Who is Hecules?" thread has more posts on dpreview, and some of the usual suspects are showing themselves to be the biggest hypocrites and assholes. Julio, GaryJP, clknight, Debbie Renae, Zee Char, tony turnbull, Jerry Astro, mansito, carlk, David Hull, Joseph S Wisniewski, Gene Hack, Tim O'Connor, jm67, Olga Johnson, gm1974, etc., and even Michael_J and Greg Pavlov are revealing their true selves.

A few of the worst offenders and biggest hypocrites on dpreview are Julio, David Hull, and carlk. There's a post in the above mentioned thread by Julio where he says "Just go ahead and stand in front of a kindergarten and exercise your right to free speech by shouting obscenities...let's see how long it takes before you get "moderated."" I find that statement to be hilarious and a very accurate way to define the forums at dpreview. A "kindergarten". Yep, that pretty much covers it.

I also find it interesting and ironic that several people refer to the "rules" at dpreview and that the rules should be enforced and that they are enforced. Well, the truth is that the rules are CONSTANTLY broken by those very same people and by many of the fanboys there, and the rules at dpreview are NEVER enforced unless it suits dpreview's and the fanboys' camera brand or camera model promoting agendas. In fact, the rules about not being abusive are being broken in that very thread.

Another thing that always comes up is the accusation that a particular poster is also another poster or several other posters and has registered with several user names just to cause trouble. Luke Kukovica is being accused of being Hercules, and Hercules is also accused of being other posters. The maniacal paranoia on the dpreview forums is really out of control. Some of the people there need some serious psychological help.

I think it's funny that some of the people there accuse me of being mentally ill or Hercules of being mentally ill. They do the same thing with other people sometimes when they have run out of logical and realistic arguments. I'm not the one, or ones, who are mentally ill. The fanboys are. They're the ones having a delusional love affair with a camera brand or camera model. That is SICK.

DPReview is going down the drain and you fanboys are one of the main reasons. Serious photographers don't listen to you twerps and the rest of this site has less and less to offer every day. Most of the comments this blog got last night are so predictable. It's funny that some people accuse me of being a coward when they use the name "Anonymous" to comment here. If you knew my real name, would it really make any difference? Even if you comment with your real name, does anyone know whether it actually is your real name? Are you really any less anonymous than I am? Are you really any less cowardly than I am?

It's obvious that some nerves were struck on dpreview last night, and that some of you know exactly who was being referred to by "Hercules". The responses here, and at dpreview, are very telling. If you responded in a negative way, it's because the truth hurt you. You know that you're one of the people, or types of people, that Hercules was talking about, and that I am talking about in my post here about fanboys/fangirls.

The list of fanboy names that Hercules put in some posts on dpreview was clearly only a partial list and he did say "and more". I'm sure there are many more fanboys on dpreview than Hercules specifically listed.

Fanboys are so incredibly easy to spot and they always respond predictably when they're confronted about their bullshit fanboyism. Fanboys are the weaklings of society. They have an intense need to belong to something that will make them feel important and as though they have purpose in life. They're very much like religious weaklings who lean on and promote an imaginary god so that they can feel like they're special and unique. Actually, they're just mindless, delusional, obedient sheep.

The posts by Hercules on dpreview have been deleted, but the thread titled "Who is Hecules?" remains. Yes, that how the OP spelled it. It has been hilarious reading the responses in that thread and in the others posted by Hercules before they were removed. The raging fanboys responded exactly as I, and I'm sure Hercules, knew they would. They also went running to mommy (dpreview) with their complaints and had Hercules run off the forums. I'm sure that Hercules doesn't care. He had his say and revealed the truth. Fanboys hate truth. They would rather live in a fantasy world.

Some people responded on dpreview and here in a positive way to my post about fanboys and to the posts by Hercules. Those are people who live in reality and aren't afraid of the truth. I'm glad that there are people like them. They're the ones with real guts and a mind of their own.

It's very interesting, and also predictable, that dpreview left the "Who is Hecules?" thread on their site so that fanboys could ridicule Hercules. It's exactly what I was referring to when I said that dpreview stifles and bans people who speak out against fanboys or say anything negative, even when true, about Canon. It's the people at dpreview who are the sniveling cowards, along with the fanboys they love to have on their site.

As far as dpreview and fanboys are concerned there's only one side to the story and they will censor people who try to say otherwise. dpreview is bought and paid for by the camera companies, especially Canon and Nikon, and they are good little puppets for those companies.

Well, well, someone started a thread on the dpreview.com forums about the sexual discrimination suit filed by 4 women against B&H Photo in New York, and guess what happened? Yep, dpreview deleted the thread! I guess dpreview didn't want to let people talk about the discriminatory practices at B&H Photo. That might hurt poor little B&H's feelings and it would be bad for their business if the news of the lawsuit were known to dpreview viewers.

Here's a news story about the law suit:

"NEW YORK (WABC) — A sex discrimination lawsuit has been filed against one of the best-known electronics stores in New York.

Four women accuse B&H Electronics of workplace promotions that were discriminatory.

The four women claim B&H refused to give them sales positions because of their gender. Three applied for jobs, but were turned down. The other currently works as a cashier.

“I felt hurt because I didn't feel it was fair due to the fact that I'm a woman,” employee Nakisha Cushnie said.

In the lawsuit, Cushnie alledges, “I asked to work in sales and make more money, but was told that no women were allowed in sales for religious reasons.”
“It was very stressful,” she said. “I have a family to support. The salary needs to be a lot better. I was very upset to hear I couldn't be a saleswoman.”

Cushnie has worked for B&H since April. She says she quickly realized working in sales would give her the best salary. She says it's not easy raising her kids on $9 an hour as a cashier.

“Out of the 75 employees working in the store, not counting cashiers, there was a grand total of one woman,” attorney Richard Ancowitz said. “It's kind of surprising that in this day and age, 2009, that we would see such blatant and obvious gender discrimination.”

The plaintiffs are asking for more than $7 million in damages.

Two years ago, B&H agreed to pay $4.3 million to settle a discrimination case about Hispanics getting paid less than others, and the company failing to promote them or provide health benefits.

The New York institution employs 800 to 900 people, many of whom are observant Jews.

“I knew there's no reason why I couldn't work anywhere,” plaintiff Juana Lora said. “I wasn't considering if they were Hasidic or not. I know I'm qualified to do a job, and I went in there to apply for a job.”

B&H attorney David Eisenberg told Eyewitness News he can't comment on a case his office hasn't seen."

dpreview sucks, part one

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog and thanks for looking. Here you will learn the truth about dpreview.com, well some of it anyway. I don't have the time to point out everything that's wrong with that site and some of the idiots in the forums there. If you think I'm making up anything here please feel free to go to dpreview and see the truth for yourself.

So, to get started about dpreview I'll say that it is one of the biggest fanboy sites on the web. In this case, fanboys (including fangirls) are people who are in love with a certain brand or model of something and will promote and defend it way beyond what any sane person would do.

Some or all of them are probably paid by a manufacturer to be a shill (viral marketer) for their products and to attack and insult anyone who doesn't say the absolute nicest things about that brand or model. Where dpreview comes in is that they allow and encourage the fanboys and will ban people who speak out against them.

Dpreview makes a lot of money from the manufacturers of the camera gear they review through advertising dollars and they also get free camera gear on loan from the manufacturers. Their so-called reviews are blatant examples of bias and favoritism and I'm sure it's based on which manufacturer pays them the most or loans them the most gear. I wouldn't be surprised if they take bribes too.

The dpreview forums are run by gangs of fanboys who viciously attack and try to silence anyone who doesn't agree with them or blindly praise the brand or model they love and are promoting and defending, and especially Canon products, which are plagued with many inexcusable defects by the way. I think that dpreview may even pay some of the fanboys to help promote and defend certain products or to stir up controversy so that there are more hits on the forums, which generates more clicks for more advertising dollars. Either that or some (or all) of the fanboys could just be regular employees at dpreview.

Dpreview has a big monetary interest in promoting and defending brands and models so that interest in those brands and models is high and more people may go to dpreview and either click on the reviews or go to the forums. Of course people love to see a train wreck, which is just what the dpreview forums are, and the fanboys always seem to outnumber anyone who speaks realistically about brands or models and it makes it appear that the fanboys are always right.

The fanboys work hard to silence anyone who doesn't agree that their beloved brand or model is the very best and dpreview will ban people who don't submit and agree. dpreview also selectively deletes posts that reveal the truth about fanboys and camera gear.

If you go to the dpreview forums take a good look at how the fanboys argue endlessly that their beloved brand or model is perfect and way better than all other brands or models and they will use the most inane and nitpicky things to bolster their maniacal, idiotic claims. Fan comes from the word fanatic and it certainly applies to some of the people on dpreview, and especially in the Canon DSLR and lens forums.

If anyone says anything negative about a Canon product, even when it's true, they are attacked as though they deliberately insulted the fanboy's mother or kids. I think some of those fanboys value their cameras or lenses more than their mother or kids and that at least some of them sleep with their cameras or lenses and I really don't mean sleep. ;)

Fanboys must have very low self esteem to depend on owning or lusting after a camera or lens to make themselves feel like they're important. Some of those people virtually live on forums, promoting and defending their beloved brand or model and rarely if ever take any pictures. They think that just owning or lusting after a certain brand or model will automatically make them a great and world renowned photographer.

If or when they actually do post pictures, the pictures are almost always junk, or mediocre at best. Many of them go on and on about how perfect and awesome a certain brand or model is but the next day they're often asking which lens they should buy or which settings they should use for their vacation in Disneyland. Anyone who doesn't know which lens or settings to use for certain things isn't in a position to promote or defend any brand or model.

The dpreview forums are full of wannabe photographers whose self esteem is based on being in a brand or model cult. They have the cult, mob, gang mentality and dpreview encourages it by letting them stay and banning people who speak out about it.

dpreview is a joke, and I'm apparently not the only one who is figuring that out. Amazon bought dpreview in May, 2007. At that time dpreview had over 7 million unique visitors per month. Last month (OCT. 2009) they only had about 1.3 million even though new, popular cameras (to fanboys) were announced or released, which usually generates more hits on any camera review website. dpreview deliberately lies on their site and they still say that they get 7 million unique visitors every month.

They say: "These days the site is one of, if not the, premium digital photography site with an audience of seven million unique visitors a month.."
